LARRABEE STUDIOS

Larrabee Studios has been a leader in the Los Angeles music industry for over 40 years and has hosted many of the leading artists from yesterday and today. Larrabee has an indisputable reputation of being one of the top recording and mixing facilities in the world.

Larrabee Studios began as a small recording studio on Larrabee Street in West Hollywood. Originally owned by pop lyricist, Gerry Goffin and his wife and songwriting partner/singer, Carol King. In 1969, the Mills family purchased the studio and by the late seventies, Larrabee grew into one of the first SSL studios in the country. The Mills’ son, Kevin, acquired ownership in the mid-eighties and reformatted the space and the equipment to compete with the best studios in the world.

In 1991, Larrabee North (now Larrabee Studios) was born when Kevin purchased a studio in North Hollywood from famed record producer, Giorgio Moroder. The first major project at the new studio was Michael Jackson, who made the studio his home for a year while he created his eighth studio album “Dangerous.”

Larrabee Studios, is currently one of the last full-service, state-of-the-art facilities in the country and one-of-a-kind in its field. World-renowned artists experience the spectrum of audio services from pre-production to tracking to mixing. The 7 studio facility consists of 5 main rooms, 2 tracking rooms, a production suite, and a mastering room. You can literally walk into Larrabee with an idea and walk out with a finished product.
